I'm reading this really interesting book about Chinese food called "the Fortune Cookie Chronicles" by Jennifer 8 Lee....There is a lot of stuff in it about the origins and myths behind the dishes served in Chinese Restaurants. A LOT of the food is "Americanized"--And some dishes,like Chop Suey and General Tso's Chicken are not even native to China! I don't think this book will change my opinion about Chinese take-out--It's the one food I actually CRAVE more than anything!!!
